Purpose of a Backflow Device
A backflow device is installed on your plumbing service to protect your drinking water and city water supply from contaminants. Backflow devices are made of brass metal. When water freezes, it expands! This can cause a backflow device to warp or fail over time. Property owners are required by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control to have their backflow devices tested annually by a certified professional. This is especially important for businesses such as restaurants and other food service establishments. If you have a new backflow device, you are required to have it tested when installed.
Tony R. Campbell of Northeast Backflow is South Carolina Certified to perform Backflow Installation and Testing!
Backflow Testing
If you need an annual or newly installed backflow test performed, please email a copy of the letter you received from the water department stating it is time for your inspection. We will need this letter to verify that we are testing the correct meter and the information on the letter to complete the test form. We will send the results to the water department for you. This is included in our service.
